Carowinds & Friends

Today we had a fun day for Hannah & Madison. We were supposed to be at the beach right now, but Kelley's conference got cancelled, so we had to give them something! We decided on Carowinds!! FUN FUN!

.
.
As soon as we got there, we were lucky to meet a variety of Nick characters....

(Can you name them all?)
.
.
Then we hit the rides! The girls were fearless. Neither one hesitated to ride, ride, ride!
.
The swings and carousel.....2 favorites.
.
The little jets & Azul's train were fun.
.
The Sky Needle was cool. We got to see all over! And the pirate ships were hilarious! They were screaming and screaming, and squishing eachother, and it was great! We rode this one several times!
.
The yellow kid coaster was a hit. After this picture they even rode it together BY THEMSELVES!
.
Boot's Balloon Race was a hit with the kids (though the moms were nauseus afterwards). And we finally rode the LOG RIDE (Madison has avoided this for 4 years, but then LOVED IT!)
.
.
We also caught a fun Dora show. They danced & danced....and met Dora & Boots!

.
On the way out, we made the girls stand in different states.
They were totally clueless about the NC/SC thing, but that's ok. :-)
.
.
A great day for all. No lines, hot (but not too bad), no fussing or complaining....The girls were disappointed that we didn't hit the water park side too.....NEXT TIME! :-)

Oh, What a Night....

Late July, back at the Collins house....
(sorry, I was in a sing-song mood).
Saturday night we went over to the Colllins' house for some relaxing and playing.
.
This is Cindy & Harrison.....and Madison with Macy & John Henry.
.
.
The Madison family was also there. Here are Danette, Eliza, and Jackson.
.
Where are all the dads? We'll get to that later.
.
The kids had fun outside playing some ladder ball, riding bikes, and a mini-rollercoaster, and lighting sparklers.

Meanwhile, the dads were in the backyard shooting bows & arrows?! WHAT? Yes, you heard me right. Mike & John managed to shoot the arrow THROUGH the fence!! Who thought this was a good idea?
.
.
Back inside, the kids & parent both had fun playing Rock Band.
The parents played for real (guys against girls)...
.
...the kids played for fun. :-)

.
.
By the end of the night, we all looked like this.....

But, it was fun, so who cares?! I love time with friends....that's what it's all about.

The Triple Sleepover....

....That started like THIS (oh so happy)

And ended like this (oh so scary!)
OK, let's start at the beginning.
1) Madison, Hannah, & Erin went to see High School Musical at Workshop Theater. They had a great time! They loved meeting the stars afterwards.
2) VERY late night, so they all came and slept over at our house (went to bed near midnight!)

3)Next day....at the pool where Madison & Hannah jumped on the diving board at the same time. The lifegaurd said "One at a time" so Madison proceeded to back up. She wasn't watching where she was stepping and stepped right off the back of the board, hitting her head on the board on the way down, resulting in this beautiful baby.
Don't let the smile fool you. It was NO fun. She was screaming, I was trying to scoop up THREE kids at one time and get to the ER. Meanwhile, back at the car....I'm trying to call Mike (who's in a meeting), moms (to come get their kids), etc. This was especially difficult since I had no numbers programmed in my NEW (WAY overpriced) phone since I had just broken my OLD phone last night....but I digress. Then Erin starts saying she has to throw up, which I am ignoring b/c my child is crying and I'm on the phone and carrying 100 bags. We get to the car and Erin then throws up about 4 times at my feet! So, now I have one kid bleeding like crazy, one throwing up, and one asking me why she has to go home so soon!! AGH!
Madison got calm on the way to the hospital, but the Dermabond did not go well (but at least it wasn't stitches). It's never fun to have to hold down your child while they are crying and kicking. But, all is calm for now and we can't go swimming again for 5-7 days. So, there it is. I will not be hosting a triple sleepover for a LONG while, thank you!

Grandpa & GiGi

This weekend we had a great visit from Granpa & GiGi. Of course the kids love it when they get to play with Grandpa!

Grandpa & GiGi got to see Madison's great swimming at the pool. They showed us some great moves too on the diving board!
