FIRST Day of School!

Today was the BIG day - Madison's first day of school. Sadly, Mommy couldn't go b/c she had her own first-dayers to welcome. Daddy did a great job getting her up, dressed, pictured, and dropped off with no tears! GREAT JOB, DADDY! Here are some pics...
.
Here she is....dressed in her best UNIFORM!
.
And here she goes up to her portable (oops - I mean her COTTAGE).
.
Ready to go in?
.
Hanging her bookbag up in her cubby. :-)

The New 'Do

Here is is. The final before and after (sorry she didn't really want to get her pic taken the second time).

We're really happy with it - it is ADORABLE!
EDITED: OK - one more pic of the new hair.

Going, Going, GONE!

Today was the BIG day.....we went to Hair Doodles (isn't that cute?!) and Madison got her first REAL haircut. She has had it cut twice by Mrs. Bass, but not more than a couple inches each time. This time we went all out. It was getting so hard to manage every morning - the TANGLES....AGH! So, we're trying it short. It will always grow back, right?
Here's the hair before.....say "bye!"
Here it goes.....
She even got her nails done afterwards.
They "styled" it for her too, so we don't have a picture of the actual cut hair yet, but here is the super cute braid they put in. It's adorable!
As soon as we take the braids out, I'll be sure to take a new pic so you can see the real thing. While she was cutting it, I could see that she has hair like mine - it flips out at the ends when it's short....so cute!

Swimming w/the McCarleys

Now that Erin finally got her cast off.....Erin & Uncle Trey came to the pool with us tonight. We had a great time!

Carolina Girls (Aug 4)

I forgot these pics were on my camera until I uploaded tonight, so I had to put these on too. :-) Madison and I got matching shorts when we were at the beach. How lame, I know!
Hers says "Carolina Cutie" & mine says "Best in the World...Carolina Girl."

Mason Beach Vacation

It's hard to squeeze a whole fun-filled trip into one post, but I'll try. First of all, I had the BEST time being with my family. See, most my family lives in Illinois, so I only get to see them at weddings and funerals. Growing up, even though I lived here and there, we still went "home" at least once a year, so my cousins and I were always close. So it's hard to live away from the pack now. Any chance I can get to see them is a blessing. Mike, Madison, and I shared a house with my sister's family. But only a short walk away was 30+ more family members!! Litchfield was awesome. Easy access to the beach & a cool, fun pool!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everyone loved the pool - there was a cool Kid's Zone.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Lazy River was a hit with young and old.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Madison loved digging at the beach.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After a short wierdness, she finally got in and loved it of course! She was going through a strange spell for a while.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We had a blast at Broadway at the Beach too!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course, the best part was hanging out with the family! Madison really had a great time with all the aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins!!

I can't wait to do it again!
