LAST Weekend's Update

Since the stress is all over, I finally had time to save my pictures from the computer (I had to get ready for THIS weekend's fun!). So, here's what you missed:

***************************************************************************
Saturday Madison & Erin went to the Elgin parade. Madison loved the karate kids.
*************************************************************************
Later that day, we went to Gatorfest! We rode some rides, met Diego, and painted our hair!!
**********************************************************************
Sunday we went with Hannah & Erin to Disney on Ice: Princess Wishes.

They had a really cool section with the princesses dressed on display.
Then of course, the skating.......
AND WE GOT TO SEE MULAN!!!!

NO Weekend Update?

I know, I'm horrible! We had a fun filled weekend and it's sitting right there on my camera! Unfortunately it will probobly be there a few more days b/c.....

IT'S HERE.....faster than I thought it would be. Thursday is the day of my District Teacher of the Year (DTOY) visit and interview. My lesson is all ready to go....I'm not worried about that at all.

The interview is another story. I printed about 50 pages of current educational issues in our state that I need to bone up on before Thursday. I'm starting to REALLY feel the pressure now. I'm so scared they are going to ask me something that I know nothing about and I'll be sitting there like "Um......I don't know!" All those nights of not watching the news or reading those emails that I get from all those committees is coming back to haunt me now!!

I had a dream last week that they asked me what my favorite type of ham was and why?! I told them I didn't know the different kinds of ham b/c I don't really like ham! So, hopefully they won't be asking me THAT!

So, pray for me this week that :
1) I can hold it together.....this weekend I about had a nervous breakdown just thinking about it all and....
2) I don't completely embarass myself in front of this panel of 15 judges (and my best friend, Michele who is a former DTOY and is our "escort" in the room!).

THANKS!! I'll get all those pictures off when it's all over (or when I can't read anymore!)

Family, Friends, & Fun Times

This weekend we were busy (which will be the case for the next 3 weekends, so get used to a Sunday Update).
.
Friday night we went to everybody's favorite - San Jose's! We celebrated my birthday and Honor Roll status with some friends & family. I think the poor people stuck in the back room with us were ready for us to go! :-)
.
Saturday started out with Sandlapper's SPRING FLING! It was windy & LOOKED messy, but didn't start raining until we left! WHEW! Madison had fun playing games, getting annoying little prizes, and hanging out.

.
Saturday night Madison & Hannah went to the YMCA for Kid's Night Out - High School Musical themed! They were so excited to be big girls b/c the parents couldn't go!

The BIG 3-0

Yes, it is MY birthday, not Madison's. :-) She was calling me "Birthday Girl" all day - it was very cute! She sang to me many times.
And she LOVED giving me presents! She hopped right out of bed this morning to get my present out. She was so excited! Oh, and she LOVED Granpa & GiGi's gift because it came in little while peanuts!

DTOY

Not Madison related, but I am SO EXCITED to share that I am a Richland 2 Honor Roll teacher! I'm in the Top 5 and am now a finalist for District Teacher of the Year! Now comes the fun part....be thinking of me April 24th for my classroom observation and never-ending interviews at the district office! I'm just happy I made it to Honor Roll.....that's great enough. Do I really want to make the speech at the big district inservice anyway? :-)

My team decorated my room Thursday morning to celebrate.

Skate Night

Friday was Skate Night for my school, so we invited some friends to come skate with us. The girls actually pulled themselves away from the play area to skate a few times around.

Madison's getting better (though it looked a little shaky in this video).
